Sacramento Approves Recreational Marijuana Shops

Sacramento City Council voted earlier this week to approve regulations for recreational usemarijuana stores. Council members voted unanimously to approve the proposals to allow businesses to be opened on January 1st, 2018. Permits will be available to prospective business owners within the next 30 days and the initial regulations allow up to 30 permits. Other regulations approved in the vote include the approval of the CORE program (Cannabis Opportunity Reinvestment and Equity Program) which will help women and minorities enter the cannabis market. Additionally current dispensaries will be allowed first access to new recreational shop permits and regulations were also relaxed on testing regulations to allow labs to operate more freely in the city. Great to see the state's capitol leading the charge!
